Holy Bible King James Version

Holy Bible King James Version

The King James Version is an English translation of the Christian Bible began in 1604 and completed in 1611 by the Church of England. A primary concern of the translators was to produce a Bible that would be appropriate, dignified and resonant in public reading. Hence, in a period of rapid linguistic change, they avoided contemporary idioms; tending instead towards forms that were already slightly archaic, like “verily” and “it came to pass”.

crossIs 9:6,7 Jesus is our Mighty God

Jesus is our Mighty God. So much has been written and said about our Lord’s might. The Scriptures are very clear as to how great our God is. He has created all things by the mere utterance of His word. He holds it all together by the same power of His word. He holds the key to heaven and hell. He has the power to forgive all of our sins or condemn us to hell. He has the power to create a new heaven and earth and He will do that some day. There is no limit to His power.

He has the power to heal all of our diseases. He has the power to forgive all our sins and not only to forgive, but to forget that we had ever sinned. He has the power to change who we are into a holy people, a people after His own heart. He has the power to keep us safe from the worst of whatever Satan can throw at us. He has the power to bring all the redeemed together to be with Him for all of eternity.

He is our Mighty God. Don’t shortchange the power of God in you. He is able to do immeasurably more than whatever you can ever imagine. He can help you with whatever you are facing in life. He can save you, keep you, and enable you to make it home to heaven. There is nothing that God cannot do for you if you will but let Him. You don’t have to live life in defeat. Jesus came to give us life and to give it more abundantly. Are you living life to the fullest? Are you living connected to our Mighty God?

About the Author:

Jim Hughes

Spending his formative years in Ft. Wayne, IN, Jim followed the love of his life to southeast Iowa where they married and have spent the majority of their lives. Jim has pastored several churches throughout his life and has worked many years in local factories to help support his family. The father of two married adult children and one son still at home, Jim is a first-time author.

C Through Marriage came into being through many years of pastoral and life experiences. The book first took on a life of its own over 20 years ago when I sought to address the much publicized moral failures of prominent leaders in the church. In the chapter on Chasity, I include the guideliness that I developed then to protect one’s self from such failures.

I am a firm believer in order to make sense out of life you have to use much common sense. We need to get back to the basics of what has worked for many, many generations. If is isn’t broke, why try to fix it? I strive to return to the basics of what really works in all my writings.

Welcome to the Sherrards’ eBook Resellers First Annual eBook Giveaway

That’s right. Our first annual book giveaway. My entire catalog is going to be given away. But not all at once. I have 23 books out. So I will be giving away one a week till the entire catalog is given away.

Here is the second book:

Genesis: Book of Beginnings

Genesis: Book of Beginnings

This book is a Bible Study of the Book of Genesis in the Holy Bible. The Bible text used for this study is the King James Version (KJV). This Book is the first book in the Series entitled Journey Through the Bible.

This book is a Study Guide for the Book of Genesis in the Holy Bible. The Bible text used for the study is the King James Version (KJV). It is fitting that we should start with Genesis, which is the book of Beginnings. Genesis: The Book of Beginnings is the first book in this series of Journey Through the Bible.

Genesis means “the beginning” and it is a book of beginnings. It records the creation of the world and the beginning of the nation of Israel. Chapters 12-50 focus on one man, Abraham, and his descendants. Abraham, his son Isaac and his grandson Jacob are called the patriarchs of Israel. Jacob’s twelve sons are the beginnings of the twelve tribes of Israel. Through Joseph, one of Jacob’s sons, the whole family settles in Egypt.

The word Genesis means origin or creation. Genesis, the first book of the Old Testament, is a book of beginnings. It has been said that every major doctrine has its seed or beginning in Genesis. For example, the material universe, the human race, sin, the promise of the Messiah, languages and the Hebrew nation all have their beginnings in the book of Genesis. For this reason Genesis is called the seed pot of the whole Bible. Every great fact, truth and revelation is found in this book in germ form. The book of Genesis is essential to the understanding of all the other books of the Bible.

Moses wrote the book of Genesis about 1500 years before Christ. Moses received the oracles directly from God. They were not handed down by word-of-mouth (Acts 7: 37, 38). God can just as easily tell a person the past as he can the future. The book Genesis covers a time period of nearly 2500 years, from the Creation to the journey of Israel into Egypt. http://bit.ly/36DzBiq

Below is my entire catalog of books.

Check back each week for the next book. It could be the one you want.

Let Me Help You 12/12/2019

by James Collins

“My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.” Psalm 121:2

Are you sure you don’t want to come with me?” she asked. I replied, “No. I’ve got some work to do around the house.” I kissed her, and she got in the car. She waved at me as she backed out of the driveway. I smiled and went back in the house. I thought, “She will be so surprised when she gets home.”

My wife, Amanda, has a collection of windmill shaped cookie jars. She has over seventy windmill cookie jars. She has been collecting for years. Some are valuable. She shows off her collection when company comes over. She is very fond of her windmill cookie jars.

Most of her cookie jars are kept in a large cabinet with glass doors. The other day, we took a vote for me to clean and dust the cabinet. Actually, Amanda took a vote of one to nothing for me to clean and dust the cabinet…

Last Saturday afternoon, I decided to do some household chores while Amanda was out running errands. I wanted to surprise her by cleaning her cookie jars and dusting the cabinet.

She had been gone for a little while when she called me and asked, “What are you doing?” I said, “I am about to clean and dust your cookie jar cabinet.” She said, “Honey, don’t do it now. Wait until I get home. I want to help you move my cookie jars.” I said, “I can do it,” and hung up. She called me four times in the next thirty minutes. She said, “Please wait until I get home. Don’t try to move my cookie jars by yourself.” I said, “I’m a grown man.  I know what I’m doing.” And I hung up.

Instead of taking them out of the cabinet one at a time, I grabbed two or three in my arms. I was in a hurry, and that was the fastest way.

Suddenly, the lid fell off a cookie jar. It seemed to fall in slow motion. I watched it fall. It hit the floor and shattered into 8 or 10 pieces.

Immediately, I thought, “Amanda is going to kill me when she gets home.”

I got scared and I went straight for the gun – the hot glue gun. After a few minutes, ugly yellow strands of glue ran everywhere. I pieced the lid together, wiped off the excess glue, and put the cookie jar back in the cabinet.

I didn’t think she would notice. However, when Amanda returned, the first thing she noticed was the broken lid glued together. She said, “Why didn’t you wait for me?  Why did you try to carry all that stuff by yourself? I told you I would help you.”

Sometimes in life, we try to carry a burden by ourselves when there is no need. Help is waiting. All we must do is ask for it.

The point is: God looks down at His hard-headed children, and asks, “Why are you trying to carry all that stuff by yourself? Why are you trying to carry all your relationship issues by yourself? Why are you trying to carry all that comes with raising your children by yourself? Why are you trying to carry the stress of your job by yourself? Why are you trying to carry all your problems by yourself?

The Bible says, “My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth” In other words, God says, “I am your strength.”

Are you carrying a load that is too much for you? Cast your burden on the Lord and He shall sustain you.

Holy Bible American Standard Version

The Revised Version, Standard American Edition of the Bible, more commonly known as the American Standard Version (ASV), is a version of the Bible that was released in 1901. It was originally best known by its full name, but soon came to have other names, such as the American Revised Version, the American Standard Revision, the American Standard Revised Bible, and the American Standard Edition. Because of its prominence in seminaries, however, it was in America sometimes simply called the “Standard Bible”.

Weekly Devotional: Gems From Pastor Jim 12/9/2019

Send to Kindle

by Jim Hughes

crossIs. 9:6-7 For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. And the government will rest on his shoulders. These will be his royal titles: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Jesus is our Wonderful Counselor. We discover many wonderful things about our Lord’s ability to counsel us as we face life’s uncertainties. In Matthew 9 there was a paralytic brought to Jesus for his healing. In verse four, Matthew tells us that Jesus knows the thoughts of man. No one can hide his thoughts from the Lord. He is able to give us good advice because He knows our thoughts whether we can express them or not. He doesn’t need anyone to interpret our thoughts for Him.

In John 2:25 we learn that Jesus also knows the heart of man. He knows what is behind our thoughts. He knows what our hearts need, even better than we do. He listen to our hearts and not just our words. Thus, He is able to give us much better counsel than any human ever could.

In Hebrews 4:15 we learn that Jesus was tempted in all points just as we tempted. What this says to me is that He understands how we feel. He has been confronted by the same things that confront us and understands their affect on us. In other words, He us the ultimate emphasize. He is able to help us from a position of personal experience. What He offers us by way of counsel is trustworthy because He has lived it.

In Psalm 139 we discover knows what we are made of, because He made us. We were formed in our mother’s womb with His full knowledge. He knew right from the beginning of our lives our past, present and future. He is able to counsel us best because there is nothing lacking in His knowledge of us. He knows all the details we leave out when we seek the counsel of others.

Jesus is our Wonderful Counselor. We can flee to Him with full confidence that He will not steer us wrong. He loves us and desires only what is good for us. When we listen to Him and follow His advice, He works all things out in our lives for our good and it brings Him glory and honor when we do (Romans 8:28,29). And yes, the Lord does use others to give us sound advice that helps us and if their advice is Biblically-based we should follow it.
