One Year Bible KJV

One Year Bible King James Version

This is a one year Bible. The Bible is divided into 366 sections. Each section is one day. I you keep up with it and read it every day, by the end of the year you will have read the entire Bible. I have included a “Table of Contents” as part of this book. Each day has a link, and With just 2 clicks from the Table of Contents you can get to any day in the entire book. If you are at a point where there is not a link to a day, you can always click or press the Menu and a pop-up menu will appear in which you can go to the Cover, Table of Contents, or Go to the Beginning. Choosing either of these options to navigate to certain portions of the book. This book is optimized for Text-to-Speech. However, TTS only works for the Kindle Touch, Kindle Keyboard (K3) and Kindle DX. That, however, does not prevent you from enjoying this book. You will just have to read it yourself. Now, as for the Kindle Fire, it has been commonly thought that the Fire does not have TTS. But I have found a way to implement TTS on the Fire. But it is very primitive and tedious and does not work on Kindle Books. The files that it reads have to be in pure text format. If you would like to know how to implement it on the Fire please email me and I will show you. One note of interest, the Kindle Fire was shipped with a TTS engine installed so this leads me to believe that eventually Amazon will implement full TTS at a later date. We shall see.

Weekly Devotional: Gems From Pastor Jim 7/11/2022

Send to Kindle

by Jim Hughes

CrossIs. 55:6-7 Seek the LORD while you can find him. Call on him now while he is near. Let the people turn from their wicked deeds. Let them banish from their minds the very thought of doing wrong! Let them turn to the LORD that he may have mercy on them. Yes, turn to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

The admonition here is for us to seek the Lord. The Lord puts upon us the responsibility of seeking. He initiates the contact, but we must do our part. The Lord will not intrude on our space by forcing himself upon us. We must reach out for Him in response to His reaching out to us. Are you seeking the Lord? Are you intentionally and diligently looking for the Lord’s presence in your life?

The Lord may not always be around to be found. If we ignore Him enough times and for long enough, we may no longer be able to find Him. It’s not that He moves away from us, but it’s that we move away from Him. We can shut Him out to the point where we will no longer be open to the desire of the heart for Him. If you are guilty of shutting the Lord out of your life, you are treading on very dangerous soil. Sin hardens the heart and eventually leads to such deadness of soul that one will no longer let the Lord in.

Ignoring or neglecting the disciplines of Bible study and prayer causes us to drift from the Lord. We become independent of Him and no longer deem them to be essential for our lives. We become spiritually dull and lose our sense of connection to the Lord. Soon, we begin to allow sin to creep in and no longer feel guilt and shame over it. We become conditioned to sin and it takes over our lives.

If you are guilty of doing your thing and not seeking the Lord, take seriously today’s admonition. Seek the Lord while He may be found. If you don’t consistently make the Lord a part of your living, you will wander away from Him. You may drift far enough from Him that you won’t find your way back. Ignoring the Lord is very serious business. Turn to the Lord now while he is near to your soul. The Lord will forgive you and restore you to a right relationship with Him. He is waiting for you.

Jim Hughes

Spending his formative years in Ft. Wayne, IN, Jim followed the love of his life to southeast Iowa where they married and have spent the majority of their lives. Jim has pastored several churches throughout his life and has worked many years in local factories to help support his family. The father of two married adult children and one son still at home, Jim is a first-time author.

C Through Marriage came into being through many years of pastoral and life experiences. The book first took on a life of its own over 20 years ago when I sought to address the much publicized moral failures of prominent leaders in the church. In the chapter on Chasity, I include the guideliness that I developed then to protect one’s self from such failures.

I am a firm believer in order to make sense out of life you have to use much common sense. We need to get back to the basics of what has worked for many, many generations. If is isn’t broke, why try to fix it? I strive to return to the basics of what really works in all my writings.

Verse of the Day and Devotional 7/7/2022

Verse of the DayJuly 7th, 2022

Scripture

Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” – Matthew 28:18-20 NLT

Devotion

Our verses today form what has come to be known as the Great Commission, the virtual marching orders for the church. There are three orders: make disciples, baptize them, and teach them.

The reason the disciples are to do these three things is that Jesus has been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Why is this relevant? Because Jesus has been given all authority, it follows that there is nothing that can prevent the church from fulfilling His orders. Jesus is in control “far above any ruler or authority or power or leader or anything else” (Ephesians 1:21). Although the church may yet face opposition to its task, it will not be stopped from fulfilling the commission.

Given Christ’s authority, the disciples are to go forth and make new disciples from all nations. They do this by leading people to faith in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. In effect, they go forth and make new members of the Church, new citizens of the Kingdom of God.

The disciples are also to baptize these new disciples. Baptism is significant because it is a symbol that represents the disciples dying and rising with Christ and having their sins washed away. Baptism signifies the disciple’s having passed from citizenship in the kingdom of darkness to citizenship in the Kingdom of God.

The disciples are also to teach the new disciples to obey all the commands Jesus gave them. In its broadest sense, teaching the commands of Jesus means teaching the whole Bible, because Jesus’ commands presuppose previous biblical revelation and form the foundation of the biblical revelation that was yet to come. It means to teach the new disciples everything they need to know to be effective citizens in the Kingdom of God.

As a member of the Church, as a citizen of the Kingdom, you are participating in some way, shape, or form in fulfilling the Great Commission—and Jesus is with you.

Weekly Devotional: Gems From Pastor Jim 7/4/2022

CrossPs. 25:4-5 Show me the path where I should walk, O LORD, point out the right road for me to follow. Lead me by your truth and teach me, for you are the God who saves me. All day long I put my hope in you.

This is a prayer that the Lord will answer every time. The Lord wants us to know the way to Him. He wants us to stay on the path to Him. He wants what is best for us and for us to be on the path that gets us there. He wants us to clearly know the truth. He wants us to learn the things we need to know in order to live holy lives.

The path that leads to the Lord is a rugged path because it is not worn down by many travelers. It is rugged because we are constantly battling Satan along the way to stay on it. It is rugged because it requires much determination, commitment, and work on our part. It is rugged because it’s the only way we will ever develop our spiritual muscles to sustain us in life. It is rugged because sometimes it’s a very lonely road since most do not travel on it.

We must be careful that we don’t get on the wrong road. Only one road leads us to Christ and it is the road of Mount Calvary. We have to ask the Lord to help us because it’s so easy to get off track and start traveling on the wrong path. One thing to look out for is if everything is easy with no struggles along the way, you are traveling on the wrong road. On Calvary’s road, we must pick up our cross and carry it along with us daily.

As we travel this journey of life we must always be led by God’s Word if we want to see Jesus. We must make it a priority in our lives to learn God’s truth and live it. We must never be satisfied with what we know, or think we know. We must always remain teachable. We must never get out from underneath its teachings.

Only the Lord our God can save us. He alone is the only hope we have for making it to heaven. Let us stay the course and always follow in the footprints of Jesus, the author and finisher of our salvation.
