crossIs. 1:18 “Come now, let us argue this out,” says the LORD. “No matter how deep the stain of your sins, I can remove it. I can make you as clean as freshly fallen snow. Even if you are stained as red as crimson, I can make you as white as wool.”

I don’t know your heart. I don’t what you may have done or are now doing. I don’t know if you have made a real mess of your life or not. You may think that you have really done something that is so awful that there is no longer any hope for you. You may think that even God won’t forgive you. If this is you, listen to what God says in today’s verse. There is nothing you have done or are now doing that is beyond the scope of God’s forgiveness. He is able, and willing, to clean up your act. He can take your worst and take it away from you. He can wash your heart clean, cleaner than a freshly fallen snow. Impossible? No, God is able to help you.

If you are tired of being you, let the Lord help you. Enough is enough. Only the Lord can help you with your sin problem. He is able to take care of all of your sins. All you have to do is be honest with yourself about it, confess what you have done before the Lord, ask Him to forgive you, and accept His forgiveness. He will take it from there. He will purify your soul and give you a new start in life. But, when you do you cannot hold anything back. You must give Him all of your sins and be willing to change so that you don’t continue in them.

Maybe you are reading this and you haven’t done anything drastically that has alienated you from God. The truth of the matter is that sin of any kind keeps us away from God. No matter how insignificant you may think your sin is, it is very significant to God. God is holy and no one who has unconfessed sin in their heart can get close to God. We must deal with sin before God. If we confess our sin, the Lord is faithful and just and He will forgive us, but we must confess our sins before the Lord will take them away.

Dear friend, admit it. You need to turn to the Lord today and confess sin. Don’t put it off. There is peace deep within the soul when our hearts are made pure by God. You will never know His peace until you do.

Jim Hughes

Spending his formative years in Ft. Wayne, IN, Jim followed the love of his life to southeast Iowa where they married and have spent the majority of their lives. Jim has pastored several churches throughout his life and has worked many years in local factories to help support his family. The father of two married adult children and one son still at home, Jim is a first-time author.

C Through Marriage came into being through many years of pastoral and life experiences. The book first took on a life of its own over 20 years ago when I sought to address the much publicized moral failures of prominent leaders in the church. In the chapter on Chasity, I include the guideliness that I developed then to protect one’s self from such failures.

I am a firm believer in order to make sense out of life you have to use much common sense. We need to get back to the basics of what has worked for many, many generations. If is isn’t broke, why try to fix it? I strive to return to the basics of what really works in all my writings.
