Sometimes I read the news stories on my computer. The headlines are so intriguing. But once the story behind the headline is read, it’s just mostly no information at all. The headline is the bait on a hook. Do I take it hook, line and sinker?
Oh beloved, God speaks to our hearts this morning. What are you reading most? Headlines? Are you stuck on the news stations on your tv? These things are meant to arouse curiosity. They are also meant to reel you in to someone’s opinion. Do we just believe whatever they tell us?
God wants you to know this morning that there is Truth that causes you to discern between good headlines and those that want to capture your mind. There is a way that seems right to a person. We live in a world that has taught people to believe without thinking. But as believers we are commanded to consider God’s Word over all information. Even how you feel about yourself. The enemy of your soul wants you convinced that God is displeased with you. That He thinks little of you. That you aren’t good enough, pretty enough, popular enough, witty enough and more. But God made you in secret and He knows you intimately. His love is over your life. The world says do more, but God says abide. Whether it’s news or personal thinking, you are loved and cherished and here for a purpose.
God loves you and His gift to you is discernment. Run to Him this morning and ask for more wisdom, power and love. And know His Word so that you can combat the Truth and be set totally free.
1 Thessalonians 5:8 But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and the helmet of our hope of salvation.
Romans 13:14 Instead, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the desires of the flesh.
Psalm 111:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow His precepts gain rich understanding. His praise endures forever!
Psalm 139:14 I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well.

Both Rebekah and her husband Danny have a heart to share the Gospel and the riches of life in Christ to everyone they meet. They have served in the local church and in ministry to motorcyclists. Danny is an ordained minister and they both have been Bible study teachers for many years. Rebekah also speaks at women’s retreats and conferences.
