Words of Jesus Bible KJV

Words of Jesus Bible King James Version

Words of Jesus Bible – King James Version. This Bible is NOT a complete Bible, it just contains the words of Jesus. Therefore, it does not contain any of the Old Testament. If you look at any Bible that has “a red letter edition” you will have a “Words of Jesus Bible”. Since the Kindle is in black, white, and shades of gray, you cannot easily tell what the Words of Jesus are. This edition puts the words of Jesus in Red. On the Kindle they appear a lighter grey than the rest of the text. Of course, on the Kindle apps for iPhone, iPad, Blackberry, Kindle for PC, Kindle for Mac or the Kindle Fire these words appear in red. To try and keep the context the entire verse which Jesus speaks is included.

Weekly Devotional: Gems From Pastor Jim 8/29/2022

by Jim Hughes

CrossPs. 30:4-5 Sing to the LORD, all you godly ones! Praise his holy name. His anger lasts for a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime! Weeping may go on all night, but joy comes with the morning.

Do you have a song in your heart that you find hard to contain? As a pastor of over 40 years who has absolutely zero musical ability within me, I have found it difficult to be quiet when singing God’s praises. I try to be sensitive to those around me, but it’s hard. My wife, who has lots of music within her, has to now and then let me know when I get too loud. One of the great things I look forward to in heaven is that there it won’t matter. There will be no restraints and I will be able to sing our Lord’s praises to all of my heart’s content.

Dear child of God, praise the holy name of Jesus. Praise Him for your salvation, His faithfulness, goodness, kindness, love, grace and mercy. Praise the Lord for your eternal life with Him. Praise Him for the fellowship of believers. Praise Him for His revelations to us through His Word and through His created world. Praise Him for we shall be with Him forever and ever. It will indeed be joy unspeakable and full of glory!

Sing to the Lord, dear friend, for His anger lasts only for a moment. Our God is a merciful and gracious loving Father. Yes, He can and does get angry when we sin, but His anger does not last when He sees the righteousness of Christ in us. Praise Him, for there is now no condemnation for us who are in Christ Jesus.

In this life we may go through seasons of weeping. It may seem like the days of weeping will never end, but end they will. No matter what your life may be like now, it shall pass and then comes our eternal day with the Lord where there will be no weeping or sorrow. On that day there will be eternal joy and praise will be a continuous song ascending unto the throne of our God.
Sing to the Lord all you who are godly! Praise His holy name!

Jim has pastored several churches throughout his life and has worked many years in local factories to help support his family. C Through Marriage came into being through many years of pastoral and life experiences. The book first took on a life of its own over 20 years ago when I sought to address the much publicized moral failures of prominent leaders in the church. In the chapter on Chasity, I include the guideliness that I developed then to protect one’s self from such failures.

I am a firm believer in order to make sense out of life you have to use much common sense. We need to get back to the basics of what has worked for many, many generations. If is isn’t broke, why try to fix it? I strive to return to the basics of what really works in all my writings.

Verse of the Day and Devotional 8/25/2022

Verse of the Day

August 25th, 2022

Scripture

For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. – Hebrews 4:15 NIV

Devotion

I struggle with wanting to be understood. Don’t we all? Don’t we all wish we could find that person who just gets us? I think most of us dream of finding someone who empathizes with our struggles and validates our emotions. We look for that moment of vulnerability where we pour out our deepest emotions and have someone say, “I get it! I feel the exact same way!”

But we’re never going to find the person who understands every moment, every situation, every emotion we go through. No one lives the same experiences with the same viewpoint as us. And because of that, life can feel pretty lonely.

Thankfully, Jesus gets it. Jesus gets us.

God chose to send His Son to live a human life, to be born as we are, to grow as we do, and to experience this broken world as we do. The choice to send Jesus as a baby was a choice to give us an ally, an advocate, someone who can speak on our behalf because he understands our issues. He gave us a Savior who can empathize with us.

Jesus felt betrayal when Judas sold him out. He felt physical pain when they crucified Him. He felt sadness when Lazarus died. He felt anger when He flipped the tables in the temple. He felt temptation when the enemy tried to trick him. He felt the desperation of painful obedience when He cried out in the garden.

He felt it all. And now He meets us there to be with us in the midst of our emotions. There’s nothing more comforting than an understanding ear, and we have that in our Savior.

This year has been lonely and difficult for all of us. I pray that you’ve found comfort in the Lord, in our understanding Savior. As we move into 2021, continue to confide in Him. Continue to rest in Him. Continue to trust in Him. He hears you, He understands, and He wants to meet you right where you are.

CrossPs. 29:1,2 Give honor to the LORD, you angels, give honor to the LORD for his glory and strength. Give honor to the LORD for the glory of his name. Worship the LORD in the splendor of his holiness.

What does it mean to give honor to the Lord? I believe it means we show respect for Him by acknowledging Him for who He is. It means that we give way to Him because of who He is. It means we submit to His rightful place as Lord over all our lives.

It’s interesting to note that the Psalmist is addressing the angels of heaven here. We have limited knowledge about the angels, but one thing we do know is that they are kept very busy worshiping and serving the Lord. They are constantly in the presence of God and they have no problem honoring God.

We, on the other hand, struggle with honoring the Lord. We tend to take God for granted. We tend to be lax on how we worship Him. We are lax on how we use His name. We are lax on how we represent Him in the world. We are lax on how we think about Him.

The heavenly hosts are keenly aware of God’s holiness. I wonder how many of us are aware of God’s holiness. Does the fact that God is holy do anything at all for you? Does it bother you to think about His intolerance towards sin? Does it bother you that you struggle with sin as much as you do? Do you even think about it? Does the fact that God is holy affect the way you approach Him? It should. God declares that without holiness no one shall see Him. He commands us to be holy, even as He is holy.

We give honor most to those whom we know and respect the most. And, you can’t really know God without knowing Him in His holiness.

Verse of the Day and Devotional 8/18/2022

Verse of the Day

August 18th, 2022

Scripture

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. – 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 ESV

Devotion

What should a Christian do always? What should a Christian do without ceasing? What should a Christian do in every circumstance? Our verses for today give us three items the Apostle Paul believes should be constants of the Christian life.

First of all, we should rejoice always. Joy is a fruit of the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:22). Christians have been baptized with the Holy Spirit and have joy as part of the package. It is incumbent upon us to allow this joy to manifest in our lives even when we don’t feel like it. It is significant that this injunction was written by an apostle that had suffered so much. Despite any negative circumstances, Christians have a lot to be joyful about. There should always be an atmosphere of joy surrounding us.

Second, we should pray without ceasing. This does not mean we should give up every activity other than prayer, but that we should maintain a close personal relationship to God. The lines of communication to the Father in heaven should always remain open and we should feel free to share the thoughts, cares, concerns, and desires of our heart with God at any time. God wants us to maintain our relationship to Him. What He doesn’t want is for us to go our own way apart from Him.

Finally, we should give thanks in all circumstances. The person who is willing to give thanks in all circumstances is the person who takes Romans 8:28 seriously: “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to His purpose.” There are plenty of examples in the Bible of people whose trials, troubles, and tribulations were the very means by which God could use them in mighty ways. Joseph’s imprisonment in Egypt, for example, was the vehicle for his elevation to being second only to Pharaoh. One cannot give thanks in all circumstances unless they truly believe that God is working for the good in all things.

These three items are not mere suggestions. They are the very will of God for us. Let us be full of joy and thanksgiving, and let us pray without ceasing.

Treasury of David

by Russell Sherrard

Treasury of David

Treasury of David

This work was first published in weekly installments over a twenty-year span in the London Metropolitan Tabernacle’s periodical, The Sword and the Trowel.

Completed sections were released volume by volume, until the seventh and final volume was released in 1885. Within a decade more than 120,000 sets had been sold. The Treasury of David is a superb literary achievement. Eric Hayden, pastor of the Metropolitan Tabernacle a century after Spurgeon’s ministry began there, calls this work “Spurgeon’s magnum opus.” Spurgeon’s wife said that if Spurgeon had never written any other work, this would have been a permanent literary memorial.

Weekly Devotional: Gems From Pastor Jim 8/15/2022

by Jim Hughes

CrossPs. 27:4 The one thing I ask of the LORD–the thing I seek most–is to live in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, delighting in the LORD’s perfections and meditating in his Temple. For he will conceal me there when troubles come; he will hide me in the sanctuary. He will place me out of reach on a high rock.

When was the last time you asked the Lord to keep you in His presence so that you won’t sin against Him? It is good for us to long to linger in Gods presence.

Our heart passion ought to be to delight in the Lord’s perfections. We ought to consider it pure joy to linger in the presence of God’s holiness. Instead of seeing holiness as a negative thing, we should see it as a positive thing. When we delight in God’s holiness we are able to resist the temptations of sin. We will have the desire to not sin against God.

Our heart passion ought to be to meditate on God and His Word. Whenever you draw near to God, you should be in no hurry to leave His presence. We should think often on who God is. We should meditate on the Word and let its truths sink deep into our souls.

When we dwell in the presence of God, we are kept safe. The Lord protects those who are in His presence. We need to always keep the Lord before us. We need to always stay close to the Lord, never moving out of the reach of His protection. We need to always be mindful of God so that we will have the will to not sin against Him.

Keeping God on our minds doesn’t just happen. We must work hard at keeping our focus on Him. Life is full of distractions. The soul has a natural tendency to be distracted. We must make our connection to God the priority of our lives. We must take responsibility for our souls by doing the things we must do to keep our eyes fixed on Him. We must never let our passion for God dim or grow cold.
