In our country we have an old question: Is it better to have or to know? Everyone agrees that to know is the best.
During my years as chaplain at prison ministry in Albania, many times I worked with groups that had no interest at all in any form for religious studies, so I started looking for things that would attract them. I talked about the man like no other man, a man that became the most reached and influential of all times: Solomon.
My group members started reading the chapters on wisdom and we had a competition on memorizing most of those verses. After the winners were announced, one of the winners of the competition approached me very upset. I thought he wasn’t happy with his prize. He handed me a piece of paper with a very short sentence: “You are too late for me.” I looked at him and said, “I’m right on time. Not my time or your time, but God’s time.”
I believe using Gods wisdom is treasure that we barely use. We all make the same mistakes, trying to use the wisdom we get from our education, family, experiences, and professional life before the wisdom of God. What a mistake! Every earthly experience is valuable, and God uses them in our daily lives. But to build our lives based on the wisdom of God would transform every single detail of our character.
The world has wisdom and stills seeks for it, just like those prisoners. They wanted that wisdom that made a man a great man like no other. We are God’s children. We are called to change a lost world! It’s not too late to seek wisdom from the Lord. Ask for wisdom today!
