‘You’re only as old as you feel.’
‘Age is just a state of mind.’
Oh, no; I’m in sad shape!
The aging process is a wake-up call. Don’t be cruel; waking up means getting up and putting 2 feet firmly on the floor. Now, where did I leave those bathroom slippers? Slowly, I slip my feet into the slippers and shuffle to the bathroom. Looking into the mirror, I see no signs of Sleeping Beauty. It’s more like the Ole’ Gray Mare.
Old age is not merely a state of mind; it’s a body in need of major restoration.
I won’t give in to negativity. I’m not being cast aside. There’s still a lot of good life in me; God can use people like you and me.
“For You are my hope;
Lord God, You are my confidence from my youth.
I have leaned on you since my birth;
You are He who took me from my mother’s womb;
My praise is continually of You.
I have become a marvel to many,
For You are my strong refuge.
My mouth is filled with Your praise
And with Your glory all day long.
Do not cast me away at the time of my old age;
Do not abandon me when my strength fails (Psalm 71:5-9 NASB).”
I have God all powerful to lean on.
“And even when I am old and gray, God, do not abandon me,
Until I declare Your strength to this generation,
Your power to all who are to come (Psalm 71:18 NASB).”
