Please don’t rock the boat; give me smooth sailing till’ I reach my destination. However, if I should decide to fly; please no turbulence!

I have no long distance trips planned right away. Traveling is not the issue; my primary concern is conflict. Relationship problems are sometimes unavoidable; always painful. Trivial or traumatic, I try to avoid them.

“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world (John 16:33 NASB).”

Father, I want to be brave.

“If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all people.  Never take your own revenge, beloved, but leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written: ‘Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,’ says the Lord (Romans 12:18-19 NASB).”

If possible…

Yes, but not peace at any cost. Sometimes we face undue criticism and opposition to God’s will.

“For am I now seeking the favor of people, or of God? Or am I striving to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a bond-servant of Christ (Galatians 1:10 NASB).”

Father, give me boldness.

“And when they had summoned them, they commanded them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus. But Peter and John answered and said to them, ‘Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you rather than to God, make your own judgment; for we cannot stop speaking about what we have seen and heard (Acts 4:18-20 NASB).”
