Trump Lands Trade Deal with European Union.

President Trump announced a trade agreement with the European Union after a brief meeting with EU President Ursula von der Leyen on Sunday at the Trump Turnberry Golf Course in Scotland.

The deal, which sets a 15% tariff on most goods coming from Europe, closes days before the looming Friday deadline, when Trump promised 30% tariffs. The deal also involves Europe purchasing $150 billion worth of U.S. energy and adding $600 billion in other investments into the U.S.

Von der Leyen and Trump addressed the media before their closed-door conversation, saying there was a 50-50 chance of reaching a deal. After it was struck, Trump said, “I think it’s the biggest deal ever made.”

Trump emphasized the need for fairness in the trade deal with its largest trading partner, with von der Leyen agreeing to “rebalancing” what Trump called a “one-sided” trade relationship.

11 Injured in Michigan Walmart Knife Attack.

Michigan officials are seeking to file terrorism charges against a man who allegedly stabbed 11 people at a Walmart in Traverse City on Saturday.

The suspect, Bradford James Gille, 42, began attacking shoppers with a folding pocket knife near the checkout counter before making his way to the store parking lot, where bystanders, including one person with a gun, subdued him.

As of Sunday afternoon, two of the victims remained in serious condition. One had been released from the hospital, and the others were listed in fair condition. Authorities believe the victims, one of whom is a Walmart employee, were not specifically targeted.

Grand Traverse Sheriff Mike Shea indicated the suspect has a criminal history.

List: Countries That Pray Most.

People in the developing world pray more than their Western counterparts, according to a new study, identifying the countries where daily prayer is most common.

Indonesia tops the list, with 269 million people, 95% of the population, saying they pray at least daily. Kenya and Nigeria round out the top three, with 84% of their respective populations praying daily.

Among Western nations, the U.S. stands out as the top praying country, with nearly 150 million people and 44% of the population praying daily, while India posted the highest absolute number, with an estimated 1 billion people practicing daily prayer.

The study uses data from 35 countries, excluding countries like China, where data was unavailable.

POLITICS.

The Democratic Party has its lowest public approval since the early 1990s, according to a Wall Street Journal poll, with 63% of respondents viewing the party unfavorably.

President Trump was shadowed by a heavily armored golf cart, nicknamed Golf Force One, during a Sunday round at his Turnberry course in Scotland.

South Carolina Democrats say they will fight to keep the party’s first presidential primary in the state for 2028 as party officials suggest they will look at adjusting the primary calendar.

The school district in Lawrence County, Tennessee, has announced it will no longer accept doctors’ notes for absences, seeking to address its 14% chronic absenteeism rate.
