THE FLYOVER REPLAY,

Monday, January 20, 2025, Happy Inaugaration Day!

Good Morning! On this day in 1981, the Iran hostage crisis ended with 52 American hostages freed after 444 days in captivity, on the same day Ronald Reagan was inaugurated as the 40th President of the United States.

More than two decades later, it’s Inauguration Day again, with President Donald Trump taking the oath of office on another freezing cold day in Washington.

We hope you enjoyed reading today’s Flyover. Let us know how we’re doing by replying to Russell Sherrard at russellsherrard@reagan.com.

TAKEOFF,

Trump Inauguration Today,

Donald Trump is set to be sworn in for his second term as president today inside the Capitol Rotunda due to freezing temperatures—the first time in 40 years the inauguration has not been held outside.

Trump and First Lady Melania will attend a church service at St. John’s Episcopal and then have tea with Joe and Jill Biden before the inauguration.

Trump was welcomed to Washington on Saturday with fireworks and hosted a MAGA rally on Sunday night. The GOP is distributing 220,000 Inauguration Day tickets but many more are expected to show up.

Inaugural events are drawing crowds of performers and celebrities, from Kid Rock and Carrie Underwood to billionaire tech moguls to Chinese Vice President Han Zheng.

TikTok Restores U.S. Service,

TikTok restored service on Sunday after President-elect Donald Trump announced plans to issue an executive order Monday to delay a federal ban.

The app went offline Saturday night when the law requiring ByteDance to divest its U.S. operations took effect. App stores and internet service providers faced daily fines of $5,000 for every user who accessed TikTok—penalties that could amount to billions of dollars.

Trump proposed a joint venture giving the U.S. a 50% ownership stake, while Chinese officials have reportedly discussed selling TikTok to Elon Musk.

Other potential buyers include billionaire Frank McCourt and “Shark Tank” star Kevin O’Leary, who reportedly met with Trump to gain his support for a bid.

Israel-Hamas Ceasefire Goes Into Effect,

Three Israeli hostages were released by Hamas on Sunday as the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas took effect.

The hostages, three women who appeared in good health, were greeted by their mothers and by large crowds celebrating the handover.

Ninety Palestinian prisoners were also released. Many who had been displaced since the start of the war began returning to Rafah as the ceasefire deal held throughout the day.

President Joe Biden addressed the nation after the hostage release, saying, “Today, the guns in Gaza have gone silent,” while Israel’s ambassador to the U.S., Michael Herzog, credited President-elect Donald Trump for making the ceasefire happen.

POLITICS,

Outgoing President Joe Biden received a 37% approval rating from Americans for his work over the last four years—by far the lowest of any recent Democratic president.

The Senate is expected to pass the Laken Riley Act today, mandating federal detention of illegal immigrants accused of certain crimes, with many Democrats crossing the aisle to vote for it.

The Congressional Progressive Staff Association withdrew its request to work only 32 hours a week after it drew criticism from lawmakers.

After a word from one of our sponsors Jenny will be Narrating the last half of the news.

And Now, A word From one of Our Sponsors,

Promote your book/ebook on twitter and anything digital. For example, Christian Apps. I can hear all the naysayers say that twitter is a cesspool and you can’t sell anything on twitter. I have been on twitter since August 2012. I am an author and I can tell you this is false. I have sold many, many books that I can track back to twitter. I have 14 thousand 190+ followers on twitter and it all depends on who you follow. My followers are about half political and half writers, authors and readers. Now there are some writers, and especially christian writers say that they don’t feel right selling their books. You mean to tell me that God led you to write the book and all that goes into it and not mean for you to not tell people about it? I just don’t buy it.

I will send your messages either manually or scheduled. Will gain followers daily which could turn into customers. I will boost your traffic and business. I will do my research in order to understand your niche and I will make sure I can help you boost your business.

For more information or to schedule one of these plans send email to Russell Sherrard at russellsherrard@reagan.com

Thanks Christopher,

Long Ago, when the Roman Empire was at the height of its glory, a common saying was “All Roads Lead to Rome.” I want to tell you about a very special road — a road that existed then and still exists now. This road, now almost 2,000 years old, has never led to Rome. Yet, strangely enough, it is called the Romans Road.

This takes the reader to selected passages in the Book of Romans in the Bible to explain the plan of Salvation. This is the ideal way to share the gospel using your Kindle. The reader can also read the entire book of Romans un-interrupted.
