TAKEOFF.

Florida Wins NCAA Championship.

The Florida Gators won the NCAA National Championship on Monday night, overcoming a 12-point deficit to beat the Houston Cougars 65-63 in a fierce game the Cougars led almost end-to-end.

It’s Florida’s third national championship, and their first since winning back-to-back NCAA titles in 2006 and 2007. This was Houston’s third appearance in the championship game without a victory.

The Gators trailed through almost the entire game and didn’t take the lead until the final 46 seconds. On the final wild play, the Cougar’s Emanuel Sharp went up for a shot and instead left a loose ball on the floor as time expired.

Trump Rejects EU Tariff Offer.

The European Union proposed a “zero-for-zero” deal on Monday to eliminate all industrial tariffs between the EU and the U.S., but President Trump swiftly rejected it, accusing the EU of abusing trade rules.

Trump also threatened to impose a 50% tariff on Chinese imports unless Beijing lifts its 34% retaliatory duties by today, warning that all talks with China would be canceled otherwise.

He framed the move as essential to correcting longstanding trade imbalances.

U.S. markets ended modestly lower on Monday: The Dow fell 349 points (0.9%), the S&P 500 declined by 0.2%, and the Nasdaq Composite edged up by 0.1%.

Most Popular Cars in America by State.

A state-by-state breakdown of America’s top-selling vehicles in 2024 shows the Ford F-Series as the nation’s overall favorite, claiming the top spot in 24 states across the South, Midwest, and Mountain West.

The Chevrolet Silverado followed closely, leading in states like Arizona, Alaska, and Kentucky.

The Tesla Model Y took first place in California, Washington, and New Jersey, while the Toyota RAV4 proved popular along the coasts, winning states like Florida and Connecticut.

A few states, like Arkansas, opted for more unique choices, such as the GMC Sierra, adding local flair to national trends.

POLITICS.

President Trump said Monday that the U.S. is holding direct talks with Iran over its nuclear program, with high-level meetings set to begin Saturday.

Supreme Court Justice John Roberts paused a lower court’s Monday deadline requiring the Trump administration to return a Maryland man mistakenly deported to El Salvador.

Democratic Senator Jon Ossoff has raised a record-breaking $11 million in the first quarter of 2025 for his Georgia reelection campaign, the largest first-quarter total ever by a Senate incumbent in a non-election year.

President Trump is reportedly planning a massive military parade through Washington, D.C., for his 79th birthday on June 14—a nearly 4-mile route from the Pentagon to the White House.

Long Ago, when the Roman Empire was at the height of its glory, a common saying was “All Roads Lead to Rome.” I want to tell you about a very special road — a road that existed then and still exists now. This road, now almost 2,000 years old, has never led to Rome. Yet, strangely enough, it is called the Romans Road.

This takes the reader to selected passages in the Book of Romans in the Bible to explain the plan of Salvation. This is the ideal way to share the gospel using your Kindle. The reader can also read the entire book of Romans un-interrupted.
