TAKEOFF.

Big Beautiful Bill Clears Senate.

The Senate passed President Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill Tuesday after a 50-50 split, with Vice President JD Vance casting the tie-breaking vote.

The $4.5 trillion package makes Trump’s tax cuts permanent, slashes Medicaid and food stamps, and boosts border and deportation funding.

Three Republicans—Susan Collins (ME), Thom Tillis (NC), and Rand Paul (KY)—voted no. Senator Lisa Murkowski (AK) backed it reluctantly after late negotiations.

The House now faces pressure to approve the changes before Trump’s July 4 deadline.

UPenn Bans Trans Athletes.

The University of Pennsylvania will revoke transgender swimmer Lia Thomas’ NCAA titles and bar trans athletes from competing in women’s sports, settling a federal civil rights case brought by the Trump administration.

The Education Department found Penn violated Title IX by allowing Thomas to compete and access women-only spaces, prompting the school to restore awards to affected athletes, adopt biology-based gender definitions, and issue personal apology letters.

The agreement also requires Penn to publicly state it will not permit males in female sports or facilities.

Former swimmers Paula Scanlan and Riley Gaines praised the decision as a long-overdue stand for fairness and women’s dignity in athletics.

Lululemon Sues Costco Over Alleged Dupes.

Lululemon is suing Costco in federal court, accusing the retailer of selling knockoff versions of its pricey athleisure gear, including $100-plus jackets and pants, under the Kirkland brand.

The lawsuit claims Costco misleads shoppers into thinking the cheaper items—some under $20—are made by the same manufacturers as Lululemon products.

The apparel giant is demanding a jury trial, damages, and a halt to the alleged dupes. Costco hasn’t responded. People on the internet have noticed similarities.

POLITICS.

President Trump and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said Tuesday they’re exploring prosecutions against CNN for allegedly encouraging law-breaking and tipping off operations through its reporting on U.S. airstrikes in Iran and an immigration-tracking app.

A federal judge, a Biden appointee, has blocked the Trump administration’s mass layoffs at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, ruling the cuts were likely unlawful and caused “irreparable harm.”

Attorney General Pam Bondi says the FBI is reviewing “tens of thousands” of videos of Jeffrey Epstein “with children or child porn,” but no such trove has surfaced in court records or criminal cases.

President Trump praised New York Mayor Eric Adams’ reelection bid Tuesday while threatening to arrest democratic socialist challenger Zohran Mamdani if he interferes with ICE operations.
