Then he said to me, “Speak to these bones for me. Tell them, ‘Dry bones, listen to the word of the Lord!'” – Ezekiel 37:4 ERV
Devotion
When do you reach the point in your relationships, when you say, ‘that is it! I am done!’? I am sure we are all grateful that God’s grace is immeasurable and not at all like how we deal with those in our social circles. He is the Master of second, third and 1,000th chances. His love is big enough and His forgiveness is incalculable. It is comforting to know that anybody can change if they open their hearts to God and accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
It is common to look at someone and think they are a “lost cause.” Yet, it is foolish to believe that rock bottom is too difficult for the Lord. An example of this was on display the day Christ was crucified. Jesus was between two criminals. One mocked Him and demanded that Jesus do something to get them all down from their crosses. The other acknowledged his sinful condition, acknowledged Jesus’ innocence, and most importantly, he acknowledged Jesus’ divinity. God’s grace was extended at that moment and the man was promised a blessing to go to Paradise (Luke 23:39-43).
Ezekiel 37:1-14 relates a prophet’s vision of dry bones. It is a comforting passage that reminds believers of the times in our lives when we did not serve Christ. These verses remind us that God can take any situation and make it new. Indeed, the verse of the day is inspirational and gives us hope for this world, for this state, and for this city. The chaos and evil we are seeing nowadays cannot stop God Almighty from doing what He does best: embracing, forgiving, restoring, and realigning our steps.
Another thing that stands out for me in today’s verse of the day is that God tells Ezekiel to prophesy, to speak out words that would produce life and not death. As we pray for our spouses, children, family members, and neighbors, let us speak restorative words. Believe that there is nothing impossible for God, regardless of our loved ones’ faith or moral standing.
Take heart! It is never too late for anyone. Keep praying for their hearts to be softened and keep thanking the Lord for their transformations. Remember, faith is believing what you can’t see right now (Hebrews 11:1).

This road, now almost 2,000 years old, has never led to Rome. Yet, strangely enough, it is called the Romans Road.
