TAKEOFF.

Air India Jet Crashes, 241 Dead.

A London-bound Air India Boeing 787 crashed into a residential area of Ahmedabad, India, shortly after takeoff on Thursday, killing 241 of the 242 people aboard.

The lone survivor, a British national, was thrown from the wreckage and is hospitalized.

The plane struck a medical hostel, killing and injuring dozens on the ground, including students.

It’s the deadliest crash in India in decades and the first involving a Dreamliner. Investigators are now searching for the black boxes to determine the cause, with early attention on a rare double engine failure, flap configuration error, or bird strike during takeoff.

Israel Launches Iran Airstrikes.

Israel launched a major airstrike on Iran early Friday local time under “Operation Rising Lion,” targeting nuclear and military sites in and around Tehran.

Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated the operation aimed to dismantle Iran’s nuclear capabilities, citing intelligence that Iran had enriched uranium sufficient for multiple nuclear weapons.

The United States has denied involvement in the operation, with Secretary of State Marco Rubio emphasizing that Israel acted unilaterally and that the U.S. priority is protecting American forces in the region.

In response to the attack, Israel has declared a state of emergency, anticipating potential missile and drone retaliation from Iran.

RFK Assassination Files Declassified.

The CIA released 1,450 pages Thursday related to Robert F. Kennedy’s 1968 assassination, including 54 previously classified documents.

The files include handwritten notes from Sirhan Sirhan, Kennedy’s convicted killer, along with psychological profiles suggesting he acted alone and impulsively, not as part of a conspiracy. One note reads “Kennedy must fall,” pointing to political motives over U.S. support for Israel.

The documents also reveal Kennedy voluntarily provided intelligence to the CIA after a 1955 trip to the Soviet Union and detail failed CIA plots to poison Fidel Castro.

Despite the findings, RFK Jr. continues to question the official story, citing autopsy evidence and alternative theories.

POLITICS.

House Republicans narrowly passed a bill Thursday backed by President Trump to slash $9.4 billion in federal spending, including $8.3 billion in foreign aid and $1.1 billion from NPR and PBS.

David Hogg resigned as Democratic National Convention vice chair, citing a rift over the role and plans to focus on his PAC’s $20 million push to support younger Democratic primary challengers. The move comes ahead of Thursday’s party elections.

Democratic Sen. Alex Padilla was forcibly removed and handcuffed after interrupting Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem’s news conference in Los Angeles to demand answers on federal immigration raids.

Rep. Elise Stefanik clashed with Gov. Kathy Hochul at a House hearing Thursday, pressing Hochul on migrant crime cases and slamming New York’s sanctuary policies as a threat to public safety.

The Senate confirmed former Missouri Rep. Billy Long as IRS Commissioner on Thursday.

Long Ago, when the Roman Empire was at the height of its glory, a common saying was “All Roads Lead to Rome.” I want to tell you about a very special road — a road that existed then and still exists now. This road, now almost 2,000 years old, has never led to Rome. Yet, strangely enough, it is called the Romans Road.

This takes the reader to selected passages in the Book of Romans in the Bible to explain the plan of Salvation. This is the ideal way to share the gospel using your Kindle. The reader can also read the entire book of Romans un-interrupted.
