TAKEOFF.

Kimmel Suspension Sparks Political Uproar.

Late-show host Jimmy Kimmel’s suspension by ABC over comments about Charlie Kirk’s death has ignited a political uproar, with House Democratic leaders demanding the resignation of Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chair Brendan Carr.

On Thursday, Sinclair Broadcasting, a large TV broadcast group, upped the ante even further, saying ABC’s suspension of Jimmy Kimmel was insufficient and announcing it will yank Jimmy Kimmel Live!” from its stations until the host apologizes directly to Kirk’s family and makes a donation to his organization, Turning Point USA,

Show business news site Deadline reported that Kimmel refused to apologize in a call with Disney leadership and that he planned to escalate his criticism of Trump supporters before the show was pulled. The decision to suspend Kimmel was then made by Disney Co-Chairman Dana Walden and CEO Bob Iger.

The controversy began with remarks by Kimmel on his Monday show accusing the “MAGA gang” of trying to spin Kirk’s murder for political gain. Two days later, the FCC’s Carr sharply criticized those remarks, warning broadcasters that they must serve the public interest and sparking a firestorm of criticism from Democrats.

Nvidia Bets $5 Billion on Intel Revival.

Nvidia will invest $5 billion in Intel and take a 4% ownership stake in the struggling chip-maker, news that pushed Intel stock up 23% on Thursday.

The move follows a separate $5.7 billion U.S. government investment for a 10% stake in Intel, and marks a major effort to revive the once-dominant firm under new Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan.

The companies plan to produce multiple chip generations together, teaming up to co-develop data center and PC chips.

Analysts say the deal gives Intel much-needed credibility and capital, while Nvidia shores up its U.S. manufacturing footprint amid tensions with China.
