Good Morning! On this day in 1858, Abraham Lincoln accepted the Illinois Republican Party’s nomination for the U.S. Senate while declaring, “A house divided against itself cannot stand.”

Today we’re featuring a classic optical illusion that claims if you see a duck first, you’re creative—if it’s a rabbit, you’re analytical—so tell us: did your result match how you see yourself?

We hope you enjoyed reading today’s Flyover. Let us know how we’re doing by replying to Russell Sherrard at russellsherrard@reagan.com.

TAKEOFF.

Trump Blocks Israeli Proposal to Strike Iran Leader.

President Trump issued a stern warning to Iran on Sunday, stating that any attack on U.S. interests would be met with an unprecedented military response.

He emphasized that the United States had no involvement in Israel’s recent strikes on Iranian territory. Trump also vetoed an Israeli proposal to assassinate Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, a move U.S. officials feared could dangerously escalate the conflict.

The ongoing hostilities have resulted in casualties, with Israeli airstrikes reportedly killing at least 406 people in Iran, while Iranian missile attacks have killed at least 13 people in Israel.

Despite the escalating violence, Trump expressed optimism about brokering a peace deal between Israel and Iran, asserting that such an agreement is achievable.

Trump Media Activates $2.3B Bitcoin Plan.

Trump Media’s $2.3 billion crypto initiative launched after the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) approved its registration statement, unlocking the resale of over 85 million shares tied to earlier financing deals.

The company plans to use the funds to buy and hold Bitcoin as part of its corporate assets. This move aligns with a broader trend of companies, from Trump Media to Japanese hotel firm Metaplanet, adopting Bitcoin as a corporate asset.

CEO Devin Nunes said the move supports growth across Trump Media’s social, streaming, and financial platforms and aligns with its vision for the “Patriot Economy,” which promotes financial independence and alternatives to mainstream institutions.

A new brand, Truth.Fi, is expected to offer crypto-based services and investment tools.

American Women Who Married into Aristocracy.

Between 1870 and 1914, more than 100 wealthy American women married into Britain’s cash-strapped aristocracy, bringing new money—and new attitudes—to old titles.

Consuelo Vanderbilt, one of the most iconic dollar princesses, was pushed into marrying the Duke of Marlborough and cried through her wedding, later calling life at Blenheim Palace deeply unhappy.

Nancy Astor, the sharp-tongued daughter of a Virginian railway tycoon, made history as the first woman to sit in Parliament, where she famously clashed with Winston Churchill.

Daisy Leiter of Chicago, a glamorous heiress with a mind of her own, found a rare love match with the Earl of Suffolk and even became a helicopter pilot in her later years.

Cora Colgate, a Southern belle and toothpaste heiress, married Henry Byng, 4th Earl of Strafford, who died in a mysterious fall onto railway tracks just five months after their wedding.

POLITICS.

A suspect accused of killing Minnesota House Speaker Melissa Hortman and wounding State Senator John Hoffman and his wife was arrested on Sunday evening following the largest manhunt in state history. Vance Luther Boelter, 57, was found armed and hiding near Green Isle after authorities located his car and belongings.

President Trump’s administration is weighing a plan to add 36 more countries, many in Africa and the Caribbean, to its existing travel ban, based on an internal State Department memo obtained by the media.

In other Trump administration news, officials are carving out an exception to immigration enforcement, allowing illegal immigrants working in hotels, farms, meatpacking plants, and restaurants to remain in the country.

Missouri Gov. Mike Kehoe has activated the National Guard and declared a state of emergency as precautionary measures while protests against the Trump administration’s immigration policies continue to flare up in the state.

Long Ago, when the Roman Empire was at the height of its glory, a common saying was “All Roads Lead to Rome.” I want to tell you about a very special road — a road that existed then and still exists now. This road, now almost 2,000 years old, has never led to Rome. Yet, strangely enough, it is called the Romans Road.

This takes the reader to selected passages in the Book of Romans in the Bible to explain the plan of Salvation. This is the ideal way to share the gospel using your Kindle. The reader can also read the entire book of Romans un-interrupted.
