TAKEOFF.
Wildfires Rage Across Carolinas.
At least 175 wildfires have erupted across North and South Carolina, beginning overnight Saturday. Many remained uncontained through Sunday.
The largest fire has consumed over 1,600 acres of the Carolina Forest near Myrtle Beach, prompting evacuation orders for several neighborhoods.
South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster issued a state of emergency on Sunday and issued a statewide burning ban.
As of Sunday, no structures had succumbed to the blaze, and no injuries had been reported, as first responders continued working to control the fires.
Israel Blocks Gaza Aid at Ceasefire Deadline.
Israel blocked the entry of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip on Sunday, one day after the first phase of the Israel-Hamas ceasefire came to an end.
The move is meant to pressure Hamas to accept the U.S. proposal to extend the first phase of the ceasefire by about six weeks while Hamas continues releasing hostages.
Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned of “further consequences” should Hamas not agree to the extension. Hamas says Israel is trying to derail the ceasefire agreement.
Though Israel is facing international backlash for the blockade amid the fragile ceasefire, Netanyahu says Israel is “fully coordinated” with President Trump.
Private Firm Makes Commercial Moon Landing.
A private aerospace company has pulled off the first fully successful commercial moon landing as Firefly Aerospace’s Blue Ghost lander touched down on the lunar surface early Sunday morning.
The lander carried 10 experiments to the moon for NASA, which paid Firefly $101 million for the moon delivery and $44 million for the technology on board.
Blue Ghost’s upright landing eclipsed aerospace company Intuitive Machines’ lander that touched down on the lunar surface last year but tipped over on contact.
Blue Ghost shared images it took during and after the touchdown, including one of Earth “rising” above the moon.
POLITICS.
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced a framework for a Ukraine peace plan following a summit with President Volodymyr Zelensky and European leaders in London, including a $2.7 billion loan for Ukraine.
Meanwhile, in the U.S., national security advisor Mike Waltz said, “We do not see Ukraine being a member of NATO,” saying their inclusion would obligate U.S. military presence immediately in Ukraine.
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said Sunday that he’s confident inflation could reach the Federal Reserve’s target of 2% “very quickly.”

This work was first published in weekly installments over a twenty-year span in the London Metropolitan Tabernacle’s periodical, The Sword and the Trowel.
Completed sections were released volume by volume, until the seventh and final volume was released in 1885. Within a decade more than 120,000 sets had been sold. The Treasury of David is a superb literary achievement. Eric Hayden, pastor of the Metropolitan Tabernacle a century after Spurgeon’s ministry began there, calls this work “Spurgeon’s magnum opus.” Spurgeon’s wife said that if Spurgeon had never written any other work, this would have been a permanent literary memorial.
