TAKEOFF,

Biden Delivers Farewell Address,

President Joe Biden delivered his farewell address to the nation on Wednesday night, reflecting on his decades-long political career and achievements. He also cautioned against what he described as a “rising oligarchy.”

The 17-minute speech started with praise for his foreign policy team on securing a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas. He then warned about the “dangerous concentration of power among a few ultra-wealthy individuals.”

Describing it as an oligarchy and a tech-industrial complex, Biden stated that this new power posed a threat to the nation’s democracy and fundamental rights and freedoms, referencing President Dwight Eisenhower’s warnings about the military-industrial complex when he left office.

Biden then called for reforms to the tax code, term limits for Supreme Court justices, and a constitutional amendment to end presidential immunity, concluding that it has been a privilege to serve the nation for over 50 years.

Israel, Hamas Agree on Ceasefire,

Israel and Hamas on Wednesday reached a tentative ceasefire agreement and hostage release deal, pausing the 15-month war in the Gaza Strip.

The negotiated ceasefire will be implemented in three phases over six weeks, starting on Sunday. Phase one calls for the release of 33 of the nearly 100 hostages still held by Hamas and a drawdown of Israeli troops in Gaza.

Negotiations for phase two will start on Day 16 of the ceasefire, aiming for the release of all living hostages and the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces. Phase three will involve returning the bodies of remaining hostages and beginning reconstruction in Gaza.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu hasn’t formally accepted the ceasefire agreement, stating he would only issue a formal response “after the final details of the agreement, which are currently being worked on, are completed.”

TikTok to Shut Down in the U.S. on Sunday,

TikTok plans to completely shut down its app for U.S. users starting this Sunday when a federal ban could take effect unless blocked by the Supreme Court.

Meanwhile, American users are flocking to Chinese social media platform Xiaohongshu (dubbed “RedNote”), making the Chinese-language app the most downloaded on the Apple App Store this week despite having no English interface.

President Joe Biden signed legislation in April requiring ByteDance to sell its U.S. assets by January 19, 2025, or face a nationwide ban, although President-elect Donald Trump has called for extending the deadline.

According to three sources familiar with the matter, the Biden administration is now reportedly exploring options to keep TikTok accessible in the United States if a ban moves forward.

POLITICS,

Two advocacy groups linked to Democrats Stacey Abrams and Raphael Warnock were fined $300,000 Wednesday after the Georgia Ethics Commission found 16 violations, including their illegal election work for Abrams.

A federal pilot program has recovered $31 million in Social Security payments that went to dead people, aiming for $215 million by 2026.

Two House Democrats crossed party lines, joining GOP lawmakers to help pass a bill banning men from competing in women’s sports, sending the legislation to the Senate for consideration.

And Now, A word From one of Our Sponsors,

Promote your book/ebook on twitter and anything digital. For example, Christian Apps. I can hear all the naysayers say that twitter is a cesspool and you can’t sell anything on twitter. I have been on twitter since August 2012. I am an author and I can tell you this is false. I have sold many, many books that I can track back to twitter. I have 14 thousand 190+ followers on twitter and it all depends on who you follow. My followers are about half political and half writers, authors and readers. Now there are some writers, and especially christian writers say that they don’t feel right selling their books. You mean to tell me that God led you to write the book and all that goes into it and not mean for you to not tell people about it? I just don’t buy it.

I will send your messages either manually or scheduled. Will gain followers daily which could turn into customers. I will boost your traffic and business. I will do my research in order to understand your niche and I will make sure I can help you boost your business.

For more information or to schedule one of these plans send email to Russell Sherrard at russellsherrard@reagan.com

Long Ago, when the Roman Empire was at the height of its glory, a common saying was “All Roads Lead to Rome.” I want to tell you about a very special road — a road that existed then and still exists now. This road, now almost 2,000 years old, has never led to Rome. Yet, strangely enough, it is called the Romans Road.

This takes the reader to selected passages in the Book of Romans in the Bible to explain the plan of Salvation. This is the ideal way to share the gospel using your Kindle. The reader can also read the entire book of Romans un-interrupted.
