Romania, a NATO member, confirmed its airspace wasn’t breached, but nearby Ukrainian port facilities in Izmail were hit, injuring at least one and sparking fires.

Ukrainian President Zelensky called for tougher sanctions and stronger security guarantees as Russian attacks continue.
Erin Spurs Evacuations, Beach Closures.
Hurricane Erin was a Category 2 storm on Wednesday, churning off the East Coast with 105 mph winds and triggering evacuations in North Carolina’s Outer Banks.
Though not expected to make landfall, the storm forced beach closures from the Carolinas to New York due to 15-foot waves, flooding, and life-threatening rip currents.
A state of emergency was declared in North Carolina, while Virginia is under a tropical storm watch, and storm alerts stretched as far north as Delaware.
Forecasters warned that Erin could shift in size and strength and become a Category 3 hurricane as it tracks between the U.S. East Coast and Bermuda.
Chart: What’s the Magic Number to Retire?
Americans say they’ll need about $1.1 million on average to retire, but most expect to save only a quarter of that before leaving the workforce.
Folks in the Midwest have the lowest target at $860,000, while those in the West aim highest at $1.2 million.
Generation X faces the steepest gap, expecting to save just $250,000 against a $1.2 million retirement goal.
About half of workers want to be automatically enrolled in retirement plans through their jobs, and a third say they wouldn’t have started saving at all without one.
