THE FLYOVER REPLAY,

Tuesday, November 5, 2024,

Good Morning! On this day in 1994, 45-year-old George Foreman became boxing’s oldest heavyweight champion by defeating 26-year-old Michael Moorer in the 10th round in Las Vegas, dedicating the Foreman upset to “all my buddies in the nursing home and all the guys in jail.”

Today is Election Day! If you haven’t already voted, don’t forget to cast your ballot. Even astronauts Suni Williams and Butch Wilmore, stranded in space until February 2025, have found a way to have their votes counted today.

TAKEOFF,

Russian Airplane Bomb Plot Foiled,

Western spy agencies have accused Russia of plotting to send incendiary devices on planes bound for the U.S. and Canada to undermine, aiming to undermine support for Ukraine.

Russia allegedly sent two devices using logistics company DHL, which were discovered and ignited at hubs in Germany and England, prompting a multinational investigation, according to a Wall Street Journal report.

Investigators determined that the incendiary devices disguised as electric massagers, sent from Lithuania to the U.K., were part of a broader Russian plot to transport explosives on planes to North America.

One suspect has been arrested in Lithuania and four in Poland, while authorities believe at least two more suspects are still at large.

Judge OK’s Elon’s $1M-a-Day Sweepstakes,

A Pennsylvania judge ruled on Monday that Elon Musk’s $1 million-a-day voter sweepstakes, organized by his political action committee, can continue through Tuesday’s election.

The ruling came after Musk’s lawyers argued that winners are preselected as paid spokespeople rather than chosen by chance, countering claims from Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner that the sweepstakes is a “scam” designed to sway voters illegally.

Musk’s “America PAC” stated that recipients are vetted and must align with the group’s values, with plans for final winners in Arizona and Michigan before the election concludes. The PAC has registered over 1 million participants.

POLITICS,

House Republicans demanded White House records on President Biden’s “garbage” comments about former President Donald Trump supporters, questioning if altering the official transcript breached federal law.

NBC provided Trump 90 seconds of free ad time to address concerns that Vice President Kamala Harris’ cameo on Saturday Night Live violated the FCC’s Equal Time Rule.

Several Republican-led states, including Florida and Texas, plan to block Justice Department election monitors from polling places on Election Day, with Missouri filing a lawsuit to prevent federal observation.
