TAKEOFF.

U.S. Halts All Ukraine Military Aid.

White House officials confirmed Monday that President Trump has halted all military aid to Ukraine, stating the pause will persist until Ukrainian leaders show a good-faith commitment to peace talks.

The pause applies to all military aid not yet in Ukraine, affecting munitions and anti-tank weapons, and would leave nearly $4 billion in approved congressional funding unused.

The announcement followed a tense Oval Office meeting last Friday where Trump criticized Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky for lacking gratitude over U.S. support in the war against Russia. An expected rare minerals deal was left unsigned.

Zelensky indicated on Sunday that he was still willing to sign the deal and believed the relationship with the U.S. could be salvaged.

Canada, Mexico Tariffs Hit Markets.

President Trump announced Monday that the U.S. will impose 25% tariffs on Canada and Mexico starting today, along with an additional 10% tariff on Chinese imports.

The markets reacted negatively to the news, with the Dow dropping over 600 points and the S&P 500 recording its biggest loss since December. Tech giant Nvidia’s stock also saw a sharp decline, dropping more than 8%.

Trump’s announcement of a U.S. strategic crypto reserve briefly boosted cryptocurrency prices Monday, but the impending tariffs erased early gains, leading to a 9% Bitcoin drop.

An executive order imposing tariffs was issued last month but was temporarily suspended after Canada and Mexico pledged to address border security concerns.

‘Indiana Jones of Art’ Recovers Stolen Masterpiece.

Dutch police, with the help of renowned art detective Arthur Brand—dubbed the Indiana Jones of the Art World—have recovered a long-lost painting stolen from Poland’s National Museum in 1974.

The mystery began to unravel over 50 years ago when, during a routine cleaning, a museum employee discovered that the frame held only a magazine clipping of the artwork. See the artwork here.

Investigators later tied the theft to the Polish secret service and the unresolved murder of a customs officer who had uncovered an art smuggling operation.

Brand launched his investigation after a Dutch art magazine spotted the painting at an exhibition. Using Interpol records and forensic analysis, he confirmed its identity.

POLITICS.

President Trump will address a joint session of Congress tonight, discussing border policy successes and the status of the Ukraine mineral deal. At the same time, several Democrats have signaled that they will not attend.

Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. responded to the Texas measles outbreak in an op-ed Sunday, emphasizing the importance of vaccines and announcing federal support, including resources, vaccines, and medications.

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, the failed 2024 Democratic vice-presidential nominee, said in a Sunday interview that he would “certainly consider” running for president in 2028, despite last November’s defeat.

After a word from one of our sponsors Jenny will be Narrating the last half of the news.

This work was first published in weekly installments over a twenty-year span in the London Metropolitan Tabernacle’s periodical, The Sword and the Trowel.

Completed sections were released volume by volume, until the seventh and final volume was released in 1885. Within a decade more than 120,000 sets had been sold. The Treasury of David is a superb literary achievement. Eric Hayden, pastor of the Metropolitan Tabernacle a century after Spurgeon’s ministry began there, calls this work “Spurgeon’s magnum opus.” Spurgeon’s wife said that if Spurgeon had never written any other work, this would have been a permanent literary memorial.
