THE FLYOVER REPLAY.
Wednesday, September 3, 2025.
Good Morning! On this day in 1777, the American flag flew in battle for the first time during a Revolutionary War skirmish at Cooch’s Bridge in Delaware, as Gen. William Maxwell ordered the new flag raised.
Today, we’re featuring a story about South Korea’s AI-powered dolls stepping in as companions for elderly people living alone. Would you welcome this kind of innovation in elder care, or do you find it unsettling?
We hope you enjoyed reading today’s Flyover. Let us know how we’re doing by replying to Russell Sherrard at russellsherrard@reagan.com.

TAKEOFF.
US Ships Kill 11 in Drug Boat Strike.
U.S. forces sank a drug-laden vessel in the Caribbean, killing 11 alleged members of the Tren de Aragua gang, which the U.S. labels a terrorist group.
The strike followed U.S. deployment of warships and Marines near Venezuela last week and marked the first known attack under a new military order targeting cartels. President Trump posted a video of the strike on Truth Social.
Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, already under a $50 million U.S. bounty, condemned the move as an attempt at regime change.
The U.S. has deployed at least seven ships, a nuclear-powered submarine, and more than 4,500 Marines near Venezuela in recent days.
Judge Bars Use of Troops in LA.
A federal judge has barred President Trump from deploying National Guard troops and Marines to Los Angeles.
The judge deemed it a violation of the 1878 Posse Comitatus Act, which prohibits using the military for domestic law enforcement without proper authorization.
The judge said the Trump administration is not required to withdraw the remaining 300 National Guard troops currently stationed in LA, “nor are they barred from using troops consistent with the Posse Comitatus Act.” That could include guarding federal buildings.
The ruling applies only in California, but the court paused enforcement until Sept. 12 to allow for possible appeal.
President Trump confirmed Tuesday that the U.S. Space Force headquarters will relocate from Colorado Springs to Huntsville, Alabama, citing Colorado’s mail-in voting system as one reason.
Backed by Alabama Republicans, Trump said the new HQ would save nearly half a billion dollars and support his Golden Dome defense initiative.
The battle over the home of Space Force has been going on for years. During his first term, Trump pushed for the command’s headquarters to go to Huntsville, Alabama.
However, former President Joe Biden announced in 2023 that the command would remain based in Colorado. Trump’s order Tuesday countered Biden’s earlier order.

At a press conference on Tuesday, President Trump said he would call for federal law enforcement intervention in Chicago and Baltimore. “We’re going in,” he said, but added, “I didn’t say when.”
Trump was also asked whether he had seen social media reports over the weekend claiming he was dead. “No,” he said, pointing out that he had a very active long weekend.
