TAKEOFF,

Hegseth Battles Through Four-Hour Hearing,

Pete Hegseth, President-elect Donald Trump’s pick to lead the Defense Department, endured a four-hour Senate confirmation hearing Tuesday, fielding questions about his qualifications, personal conduct, and military policy.

Senate Armed Services Committee Democrats criticized Hegseth, alleging that the veteran and former Fox News host held a negative view of women in the military and accused him of degrading female soldiers.

GOP lawmakers and officials praised Hegseth’s temperament and his ability to handle personal attacks while staying on message. Former White House Press Secretary Ari Fleischer described Hegseth as “refreshing” for remaining focused on policy instead of playing politics.

Confirmation hearings will continue through the week with lawmakers scheduled to question Department of Homeland Security candidate Gov. Kristi Noem, Attorney General candidate Pam Bondi, and State Department nominee Sen. Marco Rubio.

DOJ Releases Trump Report,

The Justice Department released Volume One of former Special Counsel Jack Smith’s report on his investigation into President-elect Donald Trump’s alleged efforts to overturn the 2020 election.

The 174-page document contained a letter from Smith to Attorney General Merrick Garland in which the special counsel asserted that the evidence presented would have been sufficient to secure a conviction.

Trump responded to the report through a series of social media posts, labeling Smith as “deranged” and proclaiming his innocence, stating, “The Voters Have Spoken!!!”

Starbucks Ends Its Open-Door Policy,

Starbucks announced Monday it is reversing its 2018 open-door policy and will now require purchases for customers who want to hang out in the cafe or use its restrooms.

The new rules reverse an open-door policy put in place in 2018, after two black men were arrested at a Philadelphia Starbucks where they had gone for a business meeting. They bought nothing and the store ended up calling the police, leading to an outcry against the company.

The new code of conduct prohibits activities including discrimination, drug use, and panhandling, with violators facing potential removal and law enforcement intervention.

The policy shift comes under new CEO Brian Niccol’s leadership as the company aims to prioritize paying customers and address safety concerns that have led to store closures.

POLITICS,

President-elect Donald Trump announced Tuesday that he will create an “External Revenue Service” to collect all revenue from foreign sources, stating it was time for them to pay their “fair share.”

Members of the Jan. 6 Select Committee, fearing retribution from President-elect Donald Trump, have met privately with the White House to discuss possible presidential pardons, according to sources.

President Biden announced Monday that the Navy’s next two aircraft carriers will be named after former Presidents George W. Bush and Bill Clinton, adding that he personally informed the two of them.

And Now, A word From one of Our Sponsors,

Promote your book/ebook on twitter and anything digital. For example, Christian Apps. I can hear all the naysayers say that twitter is a cesspool and you can’t sell anything on twitter. I have been on twitter since August 2012. I am an author and I can tell you this is false. I have sold many, many books that I can track back to twitter. I have 14 thousand 190+ followers on twitter and it all depends on who you follow. My followers are about half political and half writers, authors and readers. Now there are some writers, and especially christian writers say that they don’t feel right selling their books. You mean to tell me that God led you to write the book and all that goes into it and not mean for you to not tell people about it? I just don’t buy it.

I will send your messages either manually or scheduled. Will gain followers daily which could turn into customers. I will boost your traffic and business. I will do my research in order to understand your niche and I will make sure I can help you boost your business.

For more information or to schedule one of these plans send email to Russell Sherrard at russellsherrard@reagan.com

Long Ago, when the Roman Empire was at the height of its glory, a common saying was “All Roads Lead to Rome.” I want to tell you about a very special road — a road that existed then and still exists now. This road, now almost 2,000 years old, has never led to Rome. Yet, strangely enough, it is called the Romans Road.

This takes the reader to selected passages in the Book of Romans in the Bible to explain the plan of Salvation. This is the ideal way to share the gospel using your Kindle. The reader can also read the entire book of Romans un-interrupted.
