TAKEOFF.

Israel Launches Gaza City Ground Invasion.

The Israeli military launched a large-scale ground operation in Gaza City on Tuesday, advancing its nearly two-year campaign against Hamas.

Defense Minister Israel Katz declared “Gaza is burning,” as two IDF divisions moved in under “Operation Gideon’s Chariots II.”

Israeli officials say the operation aims to dismantle Hamas’ infrastructure and secure the release of hostages taken in the October 2023 attacks.

The offensive comes as a U.N. commission accuses Israel of committing genocide—claims Israeli leaders deny—as international pressure mounts for a ceasefire and renewed negotiations.

Kirk Suspect May Face Firing Squad.

Tyler Robinson, 22, has been charged Tuesday with aggravated murder and six other offenses in the fatal shooting of conservative Christian activist Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University.

Prosecutors revealed Robinson left a note for his transgender romantic partner confessing his plan and later texted that he acted out of anger toward Kirk’s rhetoric.

Surveillance footage and forensic evidence tied him to the rooftop sniper attack, and DNA matched items found at the scene, including a rifle once owned by his grandfather.

Utah officials, including Gov. Spencer Cox, have signaled they’ll pursue the death penalty, which in Utah could mean execution by firing squad if lethal injection is unavailable.

Americans have donated over $2.8 million through platforms like GiveSendGo and GoFundMe to support his wife, children, and memorial efforts. Organizers and donors described the campaigns as acts of grief, solidarity, and faith, echoing Kirk’s Christian message.

Hollywood Icon Robert Redford Dead at 89.

Robert Redford, the legendary actor and Oscar-winning director, died Tuesday at age 89 at his home in Sundance, Utah.

The two-time Oscar winner was known for iconic films including Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, The Sting, The Natural, and The Way We Were. Redford also founded the Sundance Institute and Film Festival.

His representative said he died in his sleep, though no official cause of death was given. He is survived by his second wife Sibylle Szaggars and two daughters.

Redford leaves behind a legacy that bridged Hollywood glamour and American grit, on and off the screen.
