THE FLYOVER,

Wednesday, October 2, 2024,

Good Morning! On this day in 1950, Charles M. Schulz published his first Peanuts comic. Running daily until 2000 and continuing in reruns, Schulz produced 17,897 strips, reaching 355 million readers in 75 countries.

What would you do if you came face to face with a crazy-looking full-size moose? Would you stand your ground and tell the moose to stop crowding you? See how that turned out for the human in our item below.

We hope you enjoyed reading today’s Flyover. Let us know how we’re doing by replying to Russell Sherrard at russellsherrard@reagan.com.

TAKEOFF,

Vance, Walz Keep Debate Civil,

In perhaps the most civil debate in recent memory, vice-presidential candidates Sen. JD Vance and Gov. Tim Walz frequently agreed on issues as they discussed policies ranging from immigration to abortion, foreign relations, and the economy.

Both Vance and Walz saved their sharpest critiques in Tuesday night’s debate for the candidates atop their respective tickets.

Vance repeatedly criticized Vice President Harris on immigration and the economy, while Walz attacked former President Trump’s abortion stance and actions on Jan. 6.

The debate lasted over 90 minutes and closed with Walz highlighting his ticket’s celebrity endorsements, while Vance focused on change and making the economy more affordable.

Iran Fires Missile Barrage at Israel,

Iran launched a barrage of nearly 200 ballistic missiles targeting central and southern Israel on Tuesday night, with explosions reported in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.

All Israelis were ordered to take shelter, with few serious injuries reported. The army has since allowed civilians to leave shelters but remains on high alert.

Israel’s Iron Dome intercepted many of the missiles. U.S. Navy destroyers fired about a dozen interceptors at Iranian missiles as part of American support.

The Israeli military said the attack, impacting around 10 million civilians, was in response to the recent killing of top Hezbollah officials and its limited incursions across the Lebanese border.

Dockworker Strike Hits U.S. Economy,

Dockworkers walked out on strike from 36 ports along the eastern U.S. Tuesday, threatening major supply chain disruptions and new inflationary pressure.

A strike lasting weeks could cost the economy between $3.8 and $4.5 billion per day, according to J.P. Morgan estimates.

Key goods at risk include 75% of the nation’s banana imports, other perishables like meat, 80% of imported alcohol, and thousands of cars and auto parts.

Experts warn that a one-week shutdown could take four to six weeks to recover. The Biden administration is monitoring the situation but says it has no plans to intervene.

POLITICS,

The U.S. military sharply criticized Russia for an “unsafe” encounter off the Alaskan coast between a Russian Su-35 fighter jet and a U.S. F-16.

The UN revealed that a top Hamas commander killed in Lebanon Monday was a suspended UN relief agency employee, adding to criticism that the organization has numerous Hamas militants in its ranks.

A Virginia school board has agreed to pay over $500,000 in damages and attorneys’ fees to a former teacher dismissed in 2018 for refusing to use a transgender student’s pronouns.

Twitter and Facebook Marketing

My Name is Russell Sherrard. I am an experienced Social Media Marketer having 9 years of experience in Twitter marketing for multiple clients. The majority of my experience is with Authors and Writers as clients but will work with any legal and legitimate business.

Promote your book/ebook on twitter and anything digital. For example, Christian Apps. I can hear all the naysayers say that twitter is a cesspool and you can’t sell anything on twitter. I have been on twitter since August 2012. I am an author and I can tell you this is false. I have sold many, many books that I can track back to twitter. I have 12 thousand 200+ followers on twitter and it all depends on who you follow. My followers are about half political and half writers, authors and readers. Now there are some writers, and especially christian writers say that they don’t feel right selling their books. You mean to tell me that God led you to write the book and all that goes into it and not mean for you to not tell people about it? I just don’t buy it. Check out some of my previous work:

Before we go let me tell you about one of the books found on my Bookstore,

Go to https:// payhip.com/ Christian NonFiction eBookStore then scroll down and click on Interactive Romans Road New King James Version

Long Ago, when the Roman Empire was at the height of its glory, a common saying was “All Roads Lead to Rome.” I want to tell you about a very special road — a road that existed then and still exists now. This road, now almost 2,000 years old, has never led to Rome. Yet, strangely enough, it is called the Romans Road.

This takes the reader to selected passages in the Book of Romans in the Bible to explain the plan of Salvation. This is the ideal way to share the gospel using your Kindle. The reader can also read the entire book of Romans un-interrupted.
